Treatment Approaches
In therapy, my clients learn to consider all aspects of their functioning as human beings (biological, emotional, psychological, spiritual, etc.). This work accompanies my philosophy of healing, growing, and living during the therapeutic process.
As your therapist, I will work with you to help you better understand your difficult, painful, or stressful life issues. Together, we will develop a plan that will help you work through any past or current situations that are hindering your progress in life, so that you can begin to function more effectively.
Since you are unlike any other client, my approach in therapy will take into consideration your own unique values, life experiences, cultural identity, and other factors important to you. We will work toward your development of new, healthy life skills to implement during the course of therapy and after therapy ends.
My approach to treatment integrates theory and techniques from various therapeutic orientations. Aspects of the following orientations/treatment approaches are used in therapy as they apply to a client's own personal situation:
- Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
During treatment, some clients have also found it helpful to integrate aspects of their spirituality and/or religion into their sessions. If this is a component that you find necessary to your therapeutic process, please feel free to discuss this with me during your consultation or intake appointment.
